What is the scam?

The SRA is aware that a website is operating at 'https://corbinbaumanpc.com/' and falsely claiming to provide legal services provided by solicitors. A member of the public has also contacted the SRA to inform that they received an email from an individual purporting to be a 'private investigator' allegedly working alongside a solicitor managing the estate of a late client. The 'private investigator' requested that they make contact with the solicitor who would explain the position regarding an alleged inheritance claim. The details provided to the member of the public for the supposed solicitor were as follows:

'Mellie Bauman, (L.B Hons) B.L PhD.

Law Offices of Corbin Bauman & Associates

(Solicitors, Advocates/Notary Public)

55-57 Banner St, London EC1Y 8PX, UK

Telephone: +44 118 464 0387

Email: mbauman@corbinbaumanpc.com

It also provides the telephone number of '+44 118 464 0387', the email addresses of 'help@corbinbaumanpc.com' and 'documents@corbinbaumanpc.com'. The website also includes the addresses of '55-57 Banner St, London EC1Y 8PX, UK' and 'Talstrasse 38, 8001 Zurich, Switzerland'.

The website lists the names and email addresses of the following individuals who are said to work at 'Corbin, Bauman & Associates':

  • 'Jonah Corbin' listed email address 'jcorbin@corbinbaumanpc.com'
  • 'Mellie Bauman' listed email address 'mbauman@corbinbaumanpc.com'

The SRA does not authorise or regulate any of the above individuals or a firm named 'Corbin, Bauman & Associates'.

Any business or transactions through the website address 'https://corbinbaumanpc.com/' telephone number, email addresses or address described above are not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
