Effect on employees
An intervention closes the firm.
We appreciate that this is a very difficult time if you have lost your job following an intervention.
Your contract of employment is personal to you and your former employer. Unfortunately, we are unable to assume any rights or obligations in relation to your contract.
Your former employer remains liable to you for your salary, references and the issue of a P45.
You should consider seeking independent legal advice if you are unable to get hold of the above. Contacting Citizens Advice might be a good place to start, or if you are a member of a trade union, they may be able to help.
Should you need it, there are a range of organisations that may be able to provide advice and support. These include:
- LawCare, the mental health charity for the legal sector, provide a free and confidential helpline
- The Solicitors' Charity can offer personalised support for emotional, physical, professional and financial wellbeing
- The Solicitors Assistance Scheme provide advice for fellow solicitors for both professional and personal problems.
