The website 'clpgroup-limited.com/' is operating and falsely claiming to be associated with a law firm and email misusing the name of Mark Hine and the name and details of CLP Group Limited.
What is the scam?
The SRA has been informed that a website is operating and presenting itself as being associated with a law firm. The website address is 'clpgroup-limited.com/'.
This bogus website provides an email address of 'info@clplimited.bid' and includes the telephone number of '+447424127321'. Also includes the address of a genuine firm (see below).
The SRA has also seen an email that has been sent to a member of the public in relation to recovering cryptocurrency funds. The email was sent from the email address 'm_hine@clplimited.bid' and included a WhatsApp number of '+447990146829'. The email also provides a link to the website referred above and includes the same address and telephone number referred to on the website above.
Any business or transaction through the above contact details and website is 'clpgroup-limited.com/' is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor named Mark Hine (SRA number 601573). The genuine solicitor is not employed at the genuine firm CLP Group Limited.
Mark Hine has confirmed that they do not have any connection to the website or email referred to in the above alert.
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors by the name of CLP Group Limited (SRA number 538375). The genuine firm uses the email domain @carbonlawpartners.com and the genuine firm's websites are www.carbonlawpartners.com and www.chelfordlaw.com. Its head office address is One Temple Quay, Temple Back East, Bristol, BS1 6DZ and telephone number is 0330 460 9635.
The genuine firm CLP Group Limited has confirmed they have no connection to the email or website referred to in the alert above.
What should I do?
