Hear from new SRA Chief Executive Sarah Rapson

Sarah Rapson has joined the SRA as our new Chief Executive.
As she takes up her new post, you can hear from Sarah about her initial high-level priorities and plans to 'get out and about' to engage with the legal profession and wider stakeholders.
Sarah said: 'I'm keen to meet a wide range of people in the coming weeks and months to hear different perspectives on the opportunities and challenges facing both the SRA and the legal sector. These views will be key as I refine my plans for the future of the SRA.'
Sarah Rapson's biography
Sarah has 20 years' experience in regulation and Government. Before joining the SRA, she was Executive Director Supervision at the Financial Reporting Council and was previously Director Authorisations at the Financial Conduct Authority. Previously, she had been a Board Member at the Home Office, the first Director-General of UK Visas and Immigration, Registrar-General for England and Wales and Chief Executive of HM Passport Office.
Her early career was in retail financial services at American Express, Barclays and Woolwich. In a non-executive capacity, Sarah was Senior Independent Director of the North Middlesex Hospital NHS Trust and Non-Executive Director of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. Sarah holds an MBA from London Business School.
